Membership Requirements

16 members (consisting of the following agencies from the City of Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William County:
  • Police
  • School
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Social Services
  • Court Service Unit Director
  • City Managers from the City of Manassas and Manassas Park
  • A representative of the Prince William County Executive
  • Indefinite (serves at the Pleasure of Council)
The purpose of the team is to:
  • Receive briefings on the status of gang suppression, prevention, and intervention programs and activities in the jurisdictions
  • In the NOVA region, the team oversees the overall direction of the gang prevention and intervention efforts by establishing goals for the GRIT
  • Take responsibility for spearheading efforts in their own organizations to remove barriers to service and to social and economic opportunities
  • Develop effective criminal justice, school, and social agency procedures as they relate to gang prevention and intervention efforts
  • Promote policies that will further any gang prevention and intervention objectives and strategies established by the GRIT in furtherance of the goals as set out by the GRIT Steering Board
