What can you shred?
Bank Account Statements
Credit Card Statements
Social Security Numbers
Invoices and Receipts
Most Shredding Events take place at the Manassas Transfer Station as part of the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste Shred Event. Please see the 2018 Calendar for further information.
There is a three box maximum for shredding and commercial shredding is not accepted due to volume.
Shredding at Home:
Residents who shred at home can set out their shredded paper, with their recycling, in clear plastic bags. That way, the crew can see that it's shredded paper and it won't blow around when the weather gets windy.
Other Paid Shredding Options:
There are many paid mobile shredding services available locally. Stores like Staples, FedEx, UPS and Office Depot also provide paid shredding services for their customers.
