Parks, Culture & Recreation

The Manassas Museum will remain closed to comply with CDC guidelines. During that time all programs, events and meetings will be cancelled and we will not accept any new park or field reservations. Please give us a call at 703-257-8453 if you have questions about any existing reservations. At this time parks are open, but restrooms will not be opened. We will get through this time together and look forward to seeing all our friends in better times. Please visit and watch this space for updates.

As we look to the city’s Phase One reopening guidelines, there are important updates:

  • Parks Remain Opened under Social Distancing Guidelines.
  • Stonewall Park Pool is Closed for the season.
  • Summer Leagues/Field Permits are cancelled for spring and summer.
  • Private pavilion rentals are prohibited until the Governor lifts the prohibition on gatherings; small groups of 10 or less are permitted.
  • All live Harris Pavilion performances are canceled through August, but tables and chairs are available for outdoor dining. Some performances will be streamed. Please watch for updates.
  • The Celebrate America 4th of July celebration is cancelled.
  • The Manassas Museum remains closed to the public, but the Echoes Museum Gift Shop is offering online ordering with free delivery
  • Some Museum Outdoor Programs and History Tours will resume with reduced capacity, masks recommended and social distancing maintained.

We’re living in trying times but also the kind of historic days that future generations should know about. Help us preserve snapshots of this time by keeping a journal and recording how the coronavirus is affecting you and your family. When it’s all over the Manassas Museum will ask for your written submissions and photos to become a part of our collection and material for future exhibits.

Swift logoThanks to the SWIFT Corporation for a $25,000 sponsorship that will support the beautification of the City of Manassas by planting 100 trees at local schools and parks. Thanks to this generous contribution, trees will be planted at: Baldwin and Weems Elementary Schools; Metz Middle School; Cavalry Run, Liberia House, Mayfield Fort, and Winterset Parks.
