Richmond - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today (8/17/2009) announced that the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is expanding its call center to handle questions that Virginians may have about the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus. The toll-free number is 1-877-275-8343 and will be answered during state business hours. The department will adjust hours as necessary to accomodate call volume. Virginians also are able to ask questions via e-mail through the VDH home page. State Health Commissioner Karen Remley, M.D., MBA said the call center's increased operations coincide with the opening of public schools across the state this month. Remember ... there is no trash/recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov 26th). It will be collected on Saturday, Nov 28th. Townhouses will have regular Friday collection. Questions? Please call 703.257.8252.

For those people who have a regular Thursday collection, your trash/recycle will be collected on SATURDAY, November 28. No other schedule changes during the week. Friday's townhouse collection will be collected on SATURDAY, December 26, 2009 and SATURDAY, January 2, 2010. No other schedule changes during the week.

Press Release - August 27, 2009 City of Manassas eliminates the display of local vehicle decals As part of FY 2010 budget the City eliminated the issuance and display of a local license and changed to a local license fee. When citizens receive their 2009 Personal Property bills they will see the $ 25.00 license fee. The only change is there will no longer be a decal to display on their vehicle. 2009 Personal Property bills will be mailed by the 1st of September and the due date is October 5, 2009.
