**Important Update: Posted here is a listing of voters who have been cancelled as required by § 24.2-428.2 of the Code of Virginia under the authority of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).
With the implementation of NVRA, Virginia no longer cancels voters merely for inactivity. Please see the State Board of Elections website for more information on NVRA cancellation policy, or call our office at (703) 257-8230 with any questions.
Posted here is a supplemental listing of voters who have been cancelled in accordance with this policy.**
The public is welcome to come by the Voter Registration Office located in the Old Town Hall Building at 9025 Center Street to obtain additional information on the following topics:
How to Register: You have the following registration options:
- Complete a voter registration application by mail.
- Appear at any voter registration site in Virginia, including our office at 9025 Center Street.
- Apply for registration while visiting any state DMV office.
- Apply for registration at state-designated public service agencies.
- Verify if you are registered to vote and if your address is up-to-date.
The deadline to register or change your address is 22 days prior to each election.
Registration Requirements
You must be:
- A United States citizen
- A resident of Virginia
- 18 years old by the next general election (17-year-olds who will turn 18 by the next general election may register in advance and may vote in the primary)
- If you have been convicted of a felony or judged to be mentally incapacitated, you must have your rights restored before registering to vote. Visit the website of the Secretary of the Commonweath for information on the rights restoration process.
