Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) Group
Enterprise GIS is a group within the city’s Information Technology division. A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer-based tool used to map and analyze physical features and events. The software combines the power of database data with visual maps.
Database information about our city’s streets, buildings, parks, electric lines, and more can be turned into visual layers. The ability to see these assets provides a visual reference for planning, analysis, and decision-making. Three ways to explore the GIS data (or layers) are provided below. More information about these options is available on our FAQ page.
The Enterprise GIS group responds to internal and public map requests, develops GIS training, updates GIS data on a daily basis, and provides GIS support to city departments.
