Comprehensive Plan Update
|
The City of Manassas’ 2002 Comprehensive Plan is in the process of being updated. Virginia law requires that localities review their plan once every five years. The current plan represented a substantially new plan for the City when it was adopted in March of 2003, thus this review is focused primarily on technical updates to the plan's text and maps with any changes that have occurred in the last five years. A more substantial review and update of the plan is expected during the next five year update to reflect the results of the 2010 Census.

The Update
The update is primarily technical in nature, however the City is taking this opportunity to create new chapters in the areas of: Environment, Sustainability, and Housing and Neighborhoods. The update also includes looking at the existing Land Use and Transportation Chapters and suggests revised approaches to these elements.
