Description:
The City of Manassas is soliciting Bids for roof replacement Manassas City Hall located at 9027 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110 and Harry J Parrish Building located 9025 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110.  The Work includes, but is not limited to removal of the existing ballasted EPDM roofing system, salvage of existing roofing insulation and installation of a new fully adhered PVC roofing membrane and associated flashings. Replacement of existing roof drains and tie-in to existing roof drain lines. Installation of new overflow roof drains and new overflow roof drain lines including projecting lines through exterior walls.  Installation of new wood framing, blocking, sheathing, etc., at perimeter of roof sections. Installation of new copper copings with integral flange for mounting of Christmas lights. Replacement of existing skylight/smoke hatches at stairwells (2 total). Replacement of existing roof hatches (2 total) Installation of new Multiple Conduit Enclosures (MCE) and rerouting of existing electrical and refrigerant lines, servicing various equipment, through MCEs. Installation of new electrical circuits and exterior outlets servicing Christmas lights. Installation of new through-wall flashings. Replacement of existing sealant joints at pre-cast concrete cladding elements. Replacement of existing sealant joints at control joints in brick masonry veneer. Replacement of existing sealant joints at curtain wall and windows. Replacement of existing sealant joints at doors. Miscellaneous repointing of brick masonry veneer. Replacement of cracked/deteriorated brick units. Cleaning of façade.

MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING AND SITE VISIT:

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the City of Manassas, City Hall Building, 9027 Center Street, Council Chambers, Manassas, VA 20110.  The purpose of this conference is to allow potential bidders an opportunity to present questions and obtain clarification relative to any facet of this solicitation.

Due to the importance of all bidders having a clear understanding of the specifications/scope of work and requirements of this solicitation, attendance at this conference will be a prerequisite for submitting a bid.  Bids will only be accepted from those bidders who are represented at this pre-bid conference. Attendance at the conference will be evidenced by the representative's signature on the attendance roster.


Bring a copy of the solicitation with you. Any changes resulting from this conference will be issued in a written addendum to the solicitation.

Contractors that attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be allowed to schedule a revisit to the job site with Tim Fitzwater at 703-257-8372. Please give Mr. Fitzwater forty-eight (48) hour notice prior to your desired revisit date.
