Overview
The following sections provide demographic and development related data for the City of Manassas. Demographic information is not only important for the long-range planning of the city, but is also important for the provision and funding of services to city residents. The data is provided in addition to data tracked by the economic development department.

Demographics Map App
This application summarizes key demographic indicators for the City of Manassas. The data provided is based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s Decennial Census and American Community Survey (ACS). Data has been grouped by the different tabs (population, employment, housing & economics) on the top of the application. In each tab the City’s 2020 totals are the default, and individual census tract data is viewed by selecting the specific census tract. To revert back to viewing the City as a whole, click on the map outside of the City boundaries or select Reset Map Selection on the upper right of the application.

The Census publishes a demographics report, which summarizes population estimates for the city, as well as estimates across several different topic areas including populations, housing, income, employment, and education. The data provided in this profile is based on the most recent U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) and Population Estimates Program (PEP) with Decennial Census data provided when available.
