The General Registrar is appointed by the City of Manassas Electoral Board and is tasked with maintaining accurate and current voter registration records as well as conducting fair, transparent, uniform elections in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia.   It is the duty of the General Registrar’s office to ensure the opportunity to register and vote for all eligible citizens, and to promote the education and participation of the City’s voters.

Susan Reed has more than 16 years of experience working with the election process. From 1999 to 2014 she worked as Chief Election Officer for the Dean Precinct. In 2014 she was hired as Assistant Registrar for the City of Manassas and was selected as General Registrar in 2016.
