Health Insurance
Health care coverage is offered to all eligible City of Manassas employees through The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Local Choice Health Benefits Program. City employees can choose from the following plans that comprise of PPO or HMO  Health Plan options:

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - Key Advantage with Expanded Benefits (PPO)
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - Key Advantage 500 (PPO)
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - High Deductible Health Plan (PPO)
Kaiser Permanente (HMO)

All plans include medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage as well as employee assistance program (EAP) benefits. Information on Supplemental Vision coverage is available here.

Comparison of the Health Insurance Coverages offered by The Local Choice

Note: Regular Part-Time employees that consistently work at least 30 hours per week but less than 40 are considered Part-Time Benefits Eligible. These employees can participate in our health insurance benefits while the City pays a small portion of the total premium.

Life Insurance
This is an employer-paid benefit. Natural death benefit is twice annual salary. Coverage also includes accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Supplemental additional employee coverage and dependent coverage is also available.
