Street Paving and Repairs

The City of Manassas maintains approximately 250 lane miles of roadway providing safe and easy transport for up to 40,000 vehicles throughout our community every day.

As you can imagine, our roads go through a lot of wear and tear. That is why our Street Department has an active program of road assessment and maintenance to make sure that all of our roads meet the rigorous standards set by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

In 2017, the City introduced a three-year Pavement Management Program to make improvements including street paving, curb and gutter replacement, concrete apron replacement and sidewalk replacement.

The City completed the first phase of the program in 2018 and updated Pavement Management Program was presented City Council on April 8, 2019. Updates include new pavement condition ratings and planned paving schedules for the upcoming financial year. Click this link to view our Pavement Management Plan and learn more about the science that goes into making our streets.  Paving for 2024 has been updated to include 12 more streets.
