ADVISORY - Fallen trees and limbs

City of Manassas Resident Reminder: unless a State of Emergency is declared for the City of Manassas, all fallen trees and limbs resulting from storm damage must follow the regular rules for curbside collection. Property owners are responsible for the removal and disposal of all fallen trees and limbs on private property.

Section 98.1-18 - Yard Waste Container Requirements 

  • Service Users shall use a private container, or paper biodegradable bag designed for Yard Waste, with a load weight not to exceed fifty (50) pounds.
  • Yard Waste set out in plastic bags will not be collected in accordance with Code § 98.1.24.
  • Branches or limbs set out as Yard Waste shall not exceed four (4) feet in length and three (3) inches in diameter and shall be bundled and tied for collection.
  • Yard Waste including all brush and bagged leaves shall be secured so as to prevent being blown and scattered by the wind.
